JAPANESE COMIC, MANGA is very popular
not only among japanese but also foreign people recently.
However, a murder occurred in which a dismembered body was left with a memo.
The mamo says "I am Kira." It`s a character`s name in Japanese popular comic.
Though I didn`t the comic well, I was so shocked to hear it.
And what was enen worse, it occurred in Belgium, not in Japan!
People will think that Japanese manga cause bad influence.
I`m afraid that people may think "all" Japanese comics are bad and
they should not read them anymore.
When a thing become worldwide famous or popular,
we tend to think it in a good way or bad way,
but tend to ignore that not all the things are like what we think.
Therefore we have to check it out deeply,
not to swallows whatever we hear in news.

Grobal warming
Recently, an German scientist and his group published a surprising research.
The scientist is Dr.Crutzen, who is a Nobel prize winner in 1995.
According to him, bio materials will not be useful to reduce the amount of
gases which produce the green-house-effect.
I was so shocked, because I had believe that it would be a great effect.
Moreover, he also suggested that they might produce N2O,
which affect the green-house-effect badly.
Why was not this problem found in earlier time?
In addition, more and more antarctic iceberg is melting.
The amount of the melting ice is unprecedented.
Now it is the time to rethink about our earth, I think.
Though it is very difficult for one to think about a world-wide problem deeply,
We have to do what we can do. (132words.)

Hurricane
Two years ago, America was hit by a huge hurricane.
Many peple was injurd or killed.
Some of them were deprived of their family, houses and jobs.
And now, two years has passed but
there are still damages in U.S.A. and some counties around it.
Especially no other region get more damages than New Orleans does.
I was so sad because I had been there three times to visit my aunt`s family.
Though I heared some areas was fully recovered,
the rest areas remain suffering.
The cost of living and the rate of crimes are extremely increasing.
But meanwhile, more and more people is coming back to New Orleans,
because they loved their hometown.
Now we can get information about events through the multimedia.
But therefore we rarely tend to check out facts voluntarily.
We can get much news but we can be just passive audience.
If we are aware of it, we may be able to see things broader.

Snow White
Recently I`ve read a book which is about myth or anecdotes in Japan,
written by a famous SF writer, Hoshino Yukinobu.
Its title is "Professor Munakata`s romance."
Unfortunately, this is not a love story.；
But it`s a historical, sometimes archeological, and very fascinating story.
And, that was so interesting!
So today, I`d like to tell you about it and describe what I thought.
As you know, there is a disney movie titled "Snow White."
The heroine, Snow White is living with seven pygmies.
One day, She is killed by her stepmother, eating an toxic apple.
But in the end of the story, she is brought back to life by seven pygmies.
But perhaps most of you don`t know the original story.
In the original story, She is attacked not by her stepmother but by her own mother.
And she is attacked not once, but three times.
The first time, the mother try to kill her by a hair ornament.
The second time, by a comb with toxic.
And the last time, by a toxic apple.
In this book, the most interesting thing is that
the plot of the original story is very similar to that of Japanese myth,
which is completely different story.
In the Japanese myth, there are two main characters.
"Izanami", who is a goddess, and "Izanagi", who is a god.
They are married. And Izanagi is creating all things.
But when she has a baby of fire god, she was burned and died.
She is to go to ”Yomotukuni”, that is the land of the dead.
But when Izanagi go to there to save his wife, she was already too late.
There was a her decomposed body surrounded by eight gods of thunder.
So he then try to escape from her, by using following three items.
A vine as a hair ornament, a comb,
and a peach.
And his trial succeed.
Although the last parts of these two stories are the opposite,
there are so many similarities.
I really enjoyed reading it.
Because it makes me think deeply.
Myth or acdonetes is not things only for investigating tha past.
They could be truth, or they could be untruth.
But whether if they are or not,
it is very exciting to think about the history or process deeply, isn`t it?
And it may be chance to connect one country to others.
In today`s ARW class, Ken told us a very interesting story.

I wonder if all we have been connected with each other even long long time ago.

My sweet brother
Today I want to talk about my brother,Naoto.
He is a junior high school student, and runs in the track and field.
Because he is 5 years younger than me,
we could go to school together only for a year.
Though our hobbeis or activities are different, we can talk each other.
And I'm proud of him because he is the last person who blame someone.
He always encourages me when I am sad.
I can tell everything to him.
Now I earn my own living.
I can`t see him, but I am looking for seeing him in this summer.
Then, I`ll tell him about my friends and how wonderful this university is.

Blood Donation
What is donating blood?
We often see the sight of it.
There are many people who likes the volunteer activity,
but perhaps many of them, including myself,
have not seen the blood being used in practice.
We always give our blood without having steady fellings that
we help someone whom we do not know.
But donating blood can be a chance for people to be a kind of happy.
Because in daily life, we seldom face the case we help someone,
and if we face such a situation, it is not easy to talk to a stranger and say,
"Can I help you?" in a serious situation.
Even if in a less serious case, when we help someone,
we tend to be worried about the reaction of them or
tend to expect the repayment of the kindness.
Some people can not help anyone because they are afraid of the reaction
and of being hurt by it.
So if we give our blood, though we can not see someone who needs our help,
we certainly help someone. When we are in the mobile blood bank,
nobody requires the repayment
and everyone can be a kind person without talking to strangers.
And there are many tender hearts without patronizing attitude.
